Stand The Moon On Its Side is the second in a series of typewriter scribbles treating the language as an alchemical lab. it collects & documents the artist's process of exploring the unknown across a 10 month-period through essays, experiments, explorations and incantations and eclectic, altered streams of dream-consciousness.
as with its companion, When Galaxies Collide, all of the pieces in Stand The Moon On Its Side were composed in one pass at the typewriter -- a 1923 Underwood at the time -- with very little editing after as they were retyped into the computer.
"...There is no more couragous act than to create with the intent of allowing the creative act itself to be its own genesis. It is a freefall through inner space in which universal energy takes form in ideas and gives us buoyancy. These ideas act as a mirror which project our own image so that we may filter, may color, the universal with the personal."
